BIRTHDAY PARTY TIPS
Terry The Magic Guy is very flexible in his show. However, if you want the show to be the best it can be, below are a few simple suggestions.
1. The best time to schedule the show is about 15 minutes after the kids arrive.
This will give the kids a few minutes to say hello to each other and to meet those they don't know. It also gives those that are late a chance to see the whole show.
2. Please wait to serve food & drinks until AFTER the show.
Many kids will be helping in the show. If their hands are occupied with food and drinks, it has the potential for messy situations.
3. A space of around 8' wide by 10' deep is ideal (not including the room for the children to sit). However, as most homes are limited in their space available, as little as 6' wide by 8' deep can work.
4. Seating should be directly in front of the performance area. For optimum viewing and enjoyment of the show, those that are seated in front of the "stage" will be able to see the card tricks, facial expressions of volunteers etc. much better.
5. Please keep the performance area clear of kids AND adults both before and immediately after the show. This is a magic show, as such, some sneaky stuff needs to be prepared before the show and privately packed away after the show - please respect this request.
6. Adults are welcome and encouraged to stay for the show. Parents and older brothers & sisters that stay for the show will enjoy it just as much as the kids. However, nothing can ruin a show more than adults chatting in the background.
7. Pictures are always allowed - video allowed on a limited basis. The more photos taken during the show the better! However, please limit any video-taping to segments of the show when volunteers are helping.
7. Indoor shows are greatly encouraged. Wind or rain can risk damaging magic props. Heat, cold, and outdoor distractions can greatly take focus away from the performance.
None of the above ideas are written in stone. If you have any questions or concerns about any of them, please ASK! It's your party, and making your child's day special is the ultimate goal.
